Spanish Loquats
Loquats are small and round fruits, about 3 cm wide and 3-5 long, which grow in bunches of 5-20. Look similar to the apples in taste with a pleasant aroma and a soft, juicy and no crunchy texture. Each fruit contains 3 to 5 large inedible seeds in the centre.
They are very nutritious, rich in fibre and low in calories, only 50 kcal per 100g, so are the ideal component for slimming diets. They are particularly rich in flavonoids and antioxidants provitamin a, but also have significant amounts of vitamin b6, folic acid and potassium.
